The intro class is one of the most important steps in your Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey. We believe first impressions are key to building a healthy relationship with our students, that is the reason we are dedicated to delivering the intro class as a semi-private session with our most experienced instructors, so the classes are limited to a handful of students who will receive total attention from the instructor. New students will learn about our programs, the academy's ground rules, specific movement patterns and the fundamentals of self-defense.
There is absolutely no experience required to start this program. Our classes are designed to introduce the students to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu by its most important aspect: self-defense. In a cooperative training environment, every new student is introduced to basic techniques that will help them to understand Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu objectives, as well as physical and philosophical aspects. Every student will have an informative and enjoyable experience, regardless of age, size, gender or athletic ability.
This program was designed for our students to build and maintain a solid foundation to support their BJJ journey. After finishing the beginners program, the students are prepared to attend the classes with the rest of the group and we encourage intermediate and advanced students of varying levels to attend it together, independent of their experience. In these classes they have the opportunity to explore the techniques through repetitions, sequences, drills and combinations carefully designed to explore their full potential.
These programs are simplified versions of the BJJ Foundations where kids learn the techniques in a fun and safe way. When kids turn 14, they reach high-school age and are introduced to adult classes.
Bullying prevention is a huge component in this program. Through simulated scenarios, we teach our kids how to deal with verbal and/or physical harassment without abusing their newly developed skillset. When confrontation becomes inevitable, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu equips students with knowledge and techniques that allow them to subdue a much larger opponent in a safe and controlled manner. Due to BJJ’s reliance on self-defense and non-striking maneuvers, this martial art provides an excellent and proven method to handling bullying while obeying rules in school settings.

Our Advanced classes are structured in a less formal way to ensure a natural knowledge flow among our more experienced students. The instructors are encouraged to explore innovative techniques and expand the ones learned during the foundation classes using BJJ core principles. These classes are the perfect opportunity for students to train with highest skill level partners.
This program goes beyond physical techniques and explores principles such as: risk assessment, environment awareness, verbal response and psychological strategies that can be used to improve our student's safety in every scenario. The classes are designed to empower our students by teaching the BJJ techniques simulating real-life harassment and the most common attacks, including wrist control escapes, ground fights and hair grabbing.
This is a women-only class and, if you’ve tried BJJ somewhere else and had a negative experience, give us a chance and we are 100% confident you will be back on the mats.
No-Gi classes are essentially the same techniques learned during our foundation classes, adapted to be applied without relying on grips. No-Gi is also known for having a considerably faster approach when it comes to transitions, controls, and submissions, since the lack of Gi material reduces the friction and allows for smother moves than traditional sparring. No-Gi or Submission Grappling are a very interesting and fun variation of BJJ classes and are open to all student levels (except beginners).
Competition classes are designed for students of all levels (excluding beginners) that desire to compete in BJJ tournaments. These classes follow the Canadian competition calendar and focus on techniques, drills and strategies to be used in competition settings.
This 1-hour class welcomes all adult student levels (excluding beginners). In this class, the students have the opportunity to practice the techniques learned during the programs and explore different ways to apply them. This is a friendly non-competitive sparring session where the ultimate goal is to expand the knowledge and share with our partners.
Whether you are a beginner, experienced or competitor, having your instructor's full attention can pay off. In a private or semi-private session, the one-on-one approach will help students to improve much faster. A customizable help with allow the instructor to give valuable feedback tailored to your individual needs, since they can go over techniques that best suit your abilities and physical characteristics.
If you have challenges with compatibility of your personal schedule, this can be resolved with private classes. We will work with you to find time that will work within your restraints, so that you can continue to progress.
Competitors can also be one step ahead when they explore answers for specific situations and fill the gaps in their games. Private classes are a great tool to break training plateaus.
